Sponsoring colleagues from grassroots to national sport
Each year our colleagues can apply to our Community Fund for a contribution of up to £500 to purchase kit, equipment, or resources for their chosen charity or organisation. Procurement Manager Hayley shares how we have supported her to meet her sporting commitments and enabled her team to purchase some crucial kit.
“I play for the Wales Women’s Over 35s hockey team and was given the opportunity to represent my country in two events this year – the Home Nations in Ireland and the World Hockey Masters World Cup which were held in South Africa.
One of my teammates, who also works at Admiral, successfully applied for £500 worth of funding through the Admiral Community Fund which we used to buy the jackets we needed for the team.
Admiral offers colleagues an additional five days of annual leave to play in international tournaments. Without this and my manager’s support, I wouldn’t have been able to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity and experience.
With the ongoing support of Admiral and my team, I hope that I am able to continue for another couple of years - or for as long as my body will allow!”
