For Kirk, a Team Manager in our UK Claims area, this meant taking on a degree apprenticeship alongside his normal role.
“I’m currently in the first year of my degree apprenticeship, studying Data Science. I was drawn to Data Science as I feel it’s critically important to our future success. I was a little apprehensive at first, as it had been 20 years since I left school, but I’m glad to say it’s going really well! I am learning new skills, developing existing ones, and being challenged on a regular basis, as well as meeting and working with lots of new people.
I feel really privileged to have this opportunity, and the flexibility I’ve been given from my manager and team has been fantastic. I know I’m supported by Admiral, and there’s a clear feeling that others want me to do well, which is a real motivator when assignments are due in at the end of a busy work week!”
